Registration
University Registration
The terms registration and enrollment are often used interchangeably which can cause confusion. Enrollment refers to the actual process of getting your classes. Registration refers to a set of administrative tasks you have to do each semester to be considered a full-time student. To be registered, you must:
- settle all financial accounts, including current semester tuition
- clear any holds (financial, health, college, other) - verify that you have no holds beginning January 18 on the Student Center
- satisfy New York State health requirements
- complete course enrollment according to individual college requirements
All January entrants are also required to attend New Student Registration.
New Student Registration
All January entrants are required to attend New Student Registration on Wednesday, January 20, 9-11am, in the Willard Straight Hall Memorial Room.
This is your "one-stop-shop" for tying up loose-ends that may hold up your matriculation. You will receive a folder containing vital administrative materials including your Cornell Student ID Card. Departments from across the university will be present.
What if I arrive late?
Please make every effort to attend registration on Friday. However, if you arrive
after 11:00am, please come to the Office of the University Registrar pick up
your Cornell ID card and registration folder. You will then need to follow
up with individual offices directly on remaining matriculation requirements.
