November & December

Case for Cornell: Admission Coupon, Housing & Dining Enrollment Forms

Mailed to you with your acceptance letter, this packet includes your response to admission coupon (not available online) as well as your housing and dining enrollment forms.

To access the online housing and dining enrollment forms, go to:

Activate Network Identity & Cornell Email Address

Your Cornell NetID is your key to secure online services at Cornell. You will need it to view and pay your bursar (tuition) bill, add and drop courses, check finanical aid awards and more. Your Cornell email address will be used for official university announcements.

Your NetID and activation code will be mailed to you after the university receives your response to admission coupon and deposit. Email service for students at Cornell is provided through Cmail (Google Apps Education Edition). You are expected to activate your NetID and Cornell email account immediately.

Once you receive your NetID activation mailing, you should:

  1. Activate your Cornell email account or provide a valid, alternate email address to receive university communications.
  2. Activate your NetID.
  3. Check your email regularly.

Complete Cornell Bound Forms

In order to complete your matriculation here, you must complete all Cornell Bound forms by posted deadlines. Some forms are required; others are optional based on your interests and needs. The first form is due December 18 so begin today.

Plan for Your Spring 2010 Classes

Some colleges ask their students to pre-enroll in courses before arrival. Otherwise you will add your courses during Orientation in January. Before your enrollment period begins, familiarize yourself with the process reading the general Course and College information on this site and reviewing any instructions your college may send you before you arrive.

January

Complete Health Insurance Enrollment or Waiver Application

All students are required to have quality health insurance. Each year you must complete the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) waiver (if you have your own insurance that meets Cornell's standards) or the SHIP enrollment form. If you delay, you will be automatically enrolled and billed for SHIP. To learn more about fees, coverage, or to waive/enroll, visit the SHIP website.

Pay your Tuition Bill

Paying your tuition bill is one of the requirements of university registration. Pay your bill by January 5 to avoid holds on your university registration and finance charges. Visit the Bursar website for more information.

Check Student Center on January 18

At the start of each semester the university will update your status on Student Center (NetID required). On January 18, log in to make sure that you have no holds preventing your university registration. Even if you do not have holds, you are still required to attend New Student Registration on January 20.

Review the Orientation Guide

The Orientation Guide will be available on this site in December. It is your essential guidebook to Orientation—don't lose it! Your college schedule, daily schedule, university required events, and of course, everything fun is contained in there so look closely and make your own personalized schedule.
