Living on Campus?

All students should plan to move in on Thursday morning, January 18 to get settled before Cornell Orientation begins later that day.

Living in a Residence Hall?

Students should plan to move into their residence hall between 9:00 am - 12:00 pm on Thursday, January 18. Keys to your residence can be picked up in your Service Center. This will give you time to settle in before Cornell Orientation begins later that day.

Orientation Begins — Thursday, January 18

New Student Orientation will begin the afternoon of Thursday, January 18 and run through Tuesday, January 23 (the day before spring semester classes begin).

Orientation for the parents and families of new spring entrants is Thursday, January 18 and Friday morning, January 19.

Getting To and Around Campus For Orientation

Because Ithaca is a small community, it is wise to make lodging and travel plans early for Orientation and other large university events. Visit Ithaca provides comprehensive travel and lodging information.

When you arrive at Cornell, walking is your best method for getting around campus.  After you pick up your ID card, as a new student, you are entitled to free bus service on campus and in the Ithaca area. Commuter and Parking Services along with the Accessibility website provide accessible parking and access information.

Please be sure to adhere to all posted parking regulations.
